LEWISBURG, Pa. – Sophomore
Henry Dennen won the mile as the Amherst College men's track and field team competed against athletes from all three NCAA divisions at the Bison Outdoor Classic on Sunday at Bucknell University.
Dennen clocked a time of 4:16.67 to top a field of 39, the majority of whom were from Division I. First-year
Harrison Talcott placed eighth in 4:27.08 and classmate
Sam Young was just behind, crosing in 4:27.16 to finish ninth.
In the only other event the Mammoths contested on Sunday, sophomore
Ben Davis ran a time of 1:52.56 in the 800m to place 20th and senior
Kolya Markov-Riss was a step behind to place 21st in 1:52.76, both outdoor personal bests. Sophomore
Will Nagy ran a personal-best time of 1:53.90 to finish 37th.
The Mammoths will be back in action next weekend, traveling to MIT for the Collier Invitational on Saturday (April 20) at 11 a.m.
