Baxter skated out of the corner and into the left face-off circle, where she delivered a pass to Hohmann, stationed just inside the blue line in the high slot. Hohmann's wrist shot seemed to knuckle as it neared the goal and slipped past a screened Erin Pye for the 1-0 lead.Â

* The second period was scoreless despite two more power-play opportunities for Amherst. The Mammoths outshot Williams 25-3 in the middle period, but could not slip another shot past Pye.Â
* That frustration ended 48 seconds into the third period thanks to an all-out effort by

She then took on another Eph in the Ephs' zone, making a move ot her left in the right face-off circle that got her some one-on-one space with Pye, and she beat the goaltender with a shot into the top right corner on the near side.Â
* With 3:03 left in the game, Baxter threw a puck into the William zone that Glennon gathered behind the net, flicking a pass to her left to Xu, who skated out of the left corner and into the slot/crease area, where she maneuvered around Pye as she went to her right and slid a pass along the ice into the right side of the net for a three-goal lead.Â
* With 2:52 remaining, Williams pulled Pye off the ice after Amherst's first and only penalty of the game. The Ephs had a 6-on-4 for a full two minutes but could not get the sphere behind Stott, who made severl outstanding saves before the clock ran out.Â
