Box Score GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. -- All eight Mammoths scored Saturday afternoon as the Amherst College women's basketball team ran away from host Gwynedd Mercy, 56-34, at the Griffin Complex.
Amherst improved to 7-1 on the season. The Mammoths host Elms College Tuesday at 7 p.m. in their first semester finale.

Elizabeth Cain led all Mammoths with 15 points in the win, with
Kori Barach the only teammate to reach double figures with 11.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
* The Griffins hung tight in the first quarter, with Mammoth senior
Maya Cwalina getting into some early foul trouble and playing limited time. It was 11-11 after one.
* The second and third quarters were dominated by Amherst to the tune of a 40-12 gap in scoring. Early on in the second quarter, it was still a 14-14 game when Cain scored from down low in the paint for two. After a travel, Cain picked up an offensive rebound off her own miss and scored the putback for a four-point lead.
Annie McCarthy then came up with a strip steal on the defensive end and Cain nailed a short jumper on the baseline for a 20-14 Amherst advantage.
The Griffins crept back to 22-19 before Amherst went on a 8-0 run to close the half. Mccarthy scored off an offensive rebound, then put home a transition lay-up off a nice bounce pass from Barach. Cain then scored a lay-up in transition off a nice breakout from McCarthy to
Anna Tranum to Cain. With 51 seconds left in the half, Tranum knocked down a jumper off an assist from Barach for the 30-19 halftime lead.
The Mammoths sealed their basket in the third quarter, allowing the Griffins only four points in 10 minutes while exploding for 21 of their own. Amherst led 36-23 midway through the stanza, but outscored Gwynedd 13-0 over the final 6 minutes and 39 seconds. The Mammoths shot 53.3 percent (8 of 15) from the floor while limiting the Griffins to 16.7 percent (2 for 12) and forcing their hosts into eight turnovers.
A Liddle offensive putback ignited the final 13-0 rally, and after a pair of Barach free throws,
Brielle Renwick hit a pair. Barach then stole the ball in her defensive end and drove coast-to-coast for a lay-up which made it, 44-23. Renwick capped the run by draining a three-pointer from the right corner for a 28-point lead heading into the final 10 minutes.
BY THE NUMBERS:
* Cain added 5 rebounds and 2 steals to her 15-point game. Barach had 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal with her 11 points. Renwick finished with 7 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal. Tranum, Paul and McCarthy each finished with 6 points. McCarthy added a team-high 10 rebounds and 3 assists. Paul notched 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists. Cwalina had 1 points, but 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.
* The Mammoths had 22 field goals in the win, 15 assists.
