#19 Amherst improve season record to 3-0 with 7-2 win at #31 Hobart

GENEVA, NY — On Sunday morning, the #19 Amherst College men's squash team played their second match in two days on their weekend trip to upsate New York. After beating the #25 Hamilton College Continentals yesterday, they were equally as dominant today versus the #31 Hobart College Statesman. At the Smith Squash Center, the Mammoths prevailed with a score of 7-2.

Up Next:
The Mammoths' unbeaten season record now stands at 3-0 (2-0 versus NESCAC teams). On Wednesday, Amherst will play their third of four consecutive away matches. This time, they will travel to Cambridge, MA, to face the #17 MIT Engineers. At 6:30pm at the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center, Amherst will look to continue their winning streak versus the Engineers who are hold a 5-4 record for the season thus far. 

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Sophomore Joseph Toth fight back from losing the first two sets to win three on the bounce versus Toby Clegg-Petri at the #2 spot.
  • The other six Amherst wins were in straight sets.
  • Hobart were successful at the #2 and #3 spots, with Joey Raskin Lantos and Matthew Aldana beating first-year Fares Khairy and senior Walter Huffman, respectively
