#13 Amherst extend winning streak to six with 9-0 sweep over #25 Chatham

CANTON, NY — On Friday evening, the #13 Amherst College women's squash team had a perfect result for the second time in two days versus the #25 Chatham University Cougars (who are now 2-6 for the season). At the Robbie Squash Center, the Mammoths won 9-0.

With six wins on the bounce, Amherst's season record improves to 11-6. The Mammoths' away record is particularly impressive at 7-1.

Amherst will return from a string of away games for their final two games of the season. They will face two NESCAC foes before hosting the NESCAC tournament that starts on Saturday, February 10th. First off, they will play their rivals, the #15 Williams College Ephs at 5pm on Friday, February 2nd on the Davenport Squash Courts on Amherst's campus.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
 
  • Amherst didn't drop a single set in seven of the nine matches
  • Alex Brown fought back from losing the first set to win at the #2 spot in four sets for the Mammoths
  • Suraiya Khan Suri dropped just two points in a straightforward straight sets win at the #8 spot that took 10 minutes to complete
