AMHERST, Mass. – Five pool records fell as the Amherst College men's swimming and diving team swam to a 170-118 win over NESCAC rival Connecticut College on Saturday afternoon in the final meet of the season at Pratt Pool.
The Mammoths improved to 4-1 in dual meets this season while the Camels, ranked 23rd in the nation in the latest CSCAA Division III poll, fell to 6-2.

Will Taylor – were honored before their final meet at Pratt Pool.
Amherst returns to the water next Saturday (Feb. 3), visiting reigning NEWMAC champion MIT for a 1 p.m. meet.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* First-year
Henry Liu won three individual events, setting new pool records in both breaststroke events. Liu swam the 100-yard breaststroke in 55.86 seconds to break the previous record of 56.35 seconds set by Sean Mebust '20 in 2020. The first-year followed that performance with a swim of 2:01.53 in the 200-yard breaststroke to break Mebust's pool record of 2:03.93 and post an NCAA B-cut time. Liu also won the 200-yard individual medley in a season-best 1:54.70.
* Junior
Jaden Olson won two individual events and was part of both of Amherst's winning relay teams, setting a pool record in the 100-yard butterfly. Olson swam the 100 fly in 48.99 seconds to break the previous pool record of 49.06 set by Wyatt Ubellacker of MIT in 2013.
* Sophomore
Ethan Van De Water was also part of both relay teams and sprinted to a win in the 50-yard freestyle, touching in a season-best time of 21.39 seconds for his second win of the season.
* In his final meet at Pratt Pool, Knightly won the 200-yard freestyle in a season-best 1:41.57 for his second win of the season at that distance.
* Sophomore
Jonah Luetke won the 200-yard backstroke for his first win of the season with a season-best time of 1:50.32.
* The Mammoths opened the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay as Olson, Gerber, Van De Water and sophomore
Henry LeCates posted a time of 1:31.78, Amherst's best mark of the season in the event.
* Van De Water, Olson, Taylor and junior
Andrew Bernstein closed the meet with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay, posting a season-best time of 1:25.64.
* The Camels also broke two Pratt Pool records in the meet. First-year Evan Lyons broke the pool record in the 1650-yard freestyle, touching in 16:02.73 to best the mark of 16:10.36 set by his teammate Matthew Laclef two years ago. Laclef, now a senior, finished second in the event.
* Connecticut College junior Justin Finkel set a new pool record in the 200-yard butterfly. His time of 1:48.90 breaks the previous record of 1:51.08 set by Norman Scott of Williams in 2008.
