ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Senior Ellis Phillips-Gallucci of the Amherst College men's track and field team concluded his Amherst career by earning All-America honors with an eighth-place finish in the 400m hurdles on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships at St. John Fisher University's Polisseni Track and Field.

Phillips-Gallucci ran a time of 1:00.40 in his final race for the Mammoths before graduating tomorrow. He had won his prelim heat on Thursday in 52.64 seconds to qualify for the finals. The Willimantic, Connecticut, native was appearing in the NCAA Championships for the first time in his career and becomes Amherst's first All-American in track and field since 2021.

Phillips-Gallucci's eighth-place finish gave the Mammoths one team point, placing Amherst tied for 73rd out of 144 teams participating at the championship as MIT won its first title with 60.5 points. The event wraps up the year for the Mammoths as the final athletic event before the summer.
