CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Amherst College men's track and field team once again broke the school record in the 4x100m relay at the MIT Final Qualifier on Thursday at the Steinbrenner Track, as the Mammoths and the rest of the field were seeking one last chance to qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships.
While a school record fell and season bests were set, none of the marks from Thursday's event ranked in the top 25 nationally. The top 22 entrants in each individual event and top 16 marks in each relay will qualify for the NCAA Division III Championships, with selections announced on Friday (May 19).
As results come in from the final day of qualifying meets, senior
Ellis Phillips-Gallucci ranks fifth in the nation in the 400m hurdles and classmate
Jack Trent sits at 16th in the decathlon.
