BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sophomore Eliza Cardwell of the Amherst College women's track and field team finished 15th in the nation in the 60m hurdles with her run today at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

Cardwell ran a time of 8.85 in the preliminaries to finish fifth in her heat and 15th overall in her second appearance at indoor nationals. Amherst's school record-holder in the event, Cardwell was the only NESCAC hurdler to qualify for nationals.

Only the top eight in the preliminaries advance to tomorrow's finals, so Cardwell and the Mammoths now shift their focus to the outdoor season, which begins April 1 at Bryant University's Black & Gold Invitational.
