#14 Amherst wins second on the bounce versus #18 Franklin and Marshall, 7-2

LANCASTER, PA. — On Saturday afternoon, the #14 Amherst College women's squash team eased past the #18 Franklin and Marshall Diplomats (who are now 4-5 for the season after today's result)  on the Mayser Squash Courts.

Amherst now holds a 3-2 overall record for the season. The Mammoths have  won two games in as many days. The team will now prepare for their third consecutive game versus the #19 Georgetown University Hoyas (who are 7-3 for the season) in Annapolis, Maryland. The game will take place at the Prager Family Squash Facility on Sunday at 11 a.m.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Amherst players were far superior to their opponents at the #8 and #9 spots. Junior Blair Englet and sophomore Supriya Chang won in straight sets and dropped only four and two points, respectively, during their convincing wins
  • Sophomore Isabelle Tilney-Sandberg's match at the #5 spot was the only one to be stretched to five sets. The Mammoth recovered from behind to win the last two sets and come away with the win
  • The Mammoths had only thirteen hours between two successive games but did not show any signs of fatigue on court
