MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – First-year
Bella Lozier won the 1000m race as the Amherst College women's track and field team competed at the Middlebury Winter Classic on Saturday at Virtue Field House.
Team scores were not tallied in the meet, which featured athletes from 13 institutions representing all three NCAA divisions and Canada.
The Mammoths are back in action on Sunday, Nov. 29, traveling to Boston to compete in Middlebury's New England Small College Invitational at the Track at New Balance.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* Competing in the first 1000m race of her collegiate career, Lozier finished in 3:05.32 to qualify for the New England Division III Championships. Junior
Ally Deegan also qualified for New Englands, finishing third with a personal-best time of 3:08.53.
* Sophomore
Sylvan Wold qualified for New Englands in the 800m, finishing fourth with a time of 2:26.47 in her first collegiate indoor 800m.
