PHILADELPHIA – Junior Adam Lichtmacher wrapped up the season for the Amherst College men's squash team with a 10th-place finish in the Molloy East bracket, falling in the consolation final on Sunday at the College Squash Association National Collegiate Individual Championships at the Specter US Squash Center.

Lichtmacher, the 14th seed in the draw, lost a five-game battle with 9th-seeded Luis Moncada of Rochester in the consolation final. After Moncada won the first game, 11-6, Lichtmacher responded with an 11-5 win in the second game. The third game was the closest of the match with Moncada coming away with an 11-8 win. Lichtmacher won the fourth game, 11-7, to force a decisive fifth game, which Moncada won by an 11-5 score.

Lichtmacher played above his seed throughout the consolation bracket, upsetting the 11th and 10th seeds to reach the consolation final of the Molloy East bracket, one of four B Division draws at the individual championships. It was his best finish in his second appearance at nationals after falling in the consolation semifinals in 2020.

Lichtmacher concludes the season with a record of 14-7 for the Mammoths, who finished the season ranked 19th in the nation with a team record of 12-9.
