MEDFORD, Mass. – Junior Kelechi Eziri broke his own school record in the triple jump to highlight action for the Amherst College men's track and field team on Saturday at the Tufts National Qualifying Meet at the Gantcher Center.

Eziri hopped, skipped and jumped to a distance of 14.32m, breaking the record of 14.09m that he set in 2020. His mark was good for a second-place finish in the event.

The Mammoths also saw second-place finishes from senior Henry Buren in the 60m dash and junior Chris Gong in the long jump.

The meet at Tufts comes on the final day of qualifying for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships. Selections will be announced tomorrow (Sunday, March 6) with the top 20 times in each individual event and top 12 teams in each relay qualifying for the national championships on March 11-12 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Two Mammoths are in contention in the heptathlon as senior Troy Colleran currently holds the seventh-best mark in the nation and junior Jack Trent ranks 20th.
