BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Two javelin throwers opened the outdoor season for the Amherst College track and field teams, competing at the Bridgewater State Bears Invitational on Saturday at the Swenson Athletic Complex.
Sophomore
Carolina Andrade, who set the Amherst record in the event last spring, finished fourth out of 30 starters in the women's javelin with a mark of 34.89m.
First-year
Kevin Ryu made his collegiate debut in the event with a mark of 43.23m in the men's javelin for a 14th-place finish in the 35-man field.
The Mammoths launch the outdoor season in earnest on Sunday, April 3, with a meet across town at Massachusetts.
