THOUSAND OAKS, CA. – The Amherst College men's tennis team took a visit to the Poulson Tennis Center to take on #32 Cal Lutheran University, at Tuesday. This was the second dual match of the 2021-22 spring season for the Mammoths, after they eased past #18 Sewanee with a score of 8-1 on Monday.
Amherst won convincingly against the Cal Lu, beating the Kingsmen, 9-0, without losing a match. The Mammoths won comfortably in the doubles, dropping only 6 games in the 3 matches. The singles matches were closer, with 2 of the 6 matches going the distance in a 3rd set. First-year Sujit Chepuri was delighted with how the team quickly adapted to different conditions, noting that "the courts at Cal Lu were a lot quicker than the courts at Pepperdine University in yesterday's match against Sewanee.

The Mammoths now carry a record of 2-0 for the season and look to continue this form in their next match versus #17 Redlands, at the Verdieck Tennis Courts in Redlands, CA, on Wednesday. The match will take place at 6 p.m. est. Amherst then takes on #3 Washington University of St. Louis at the Stag Hen Invitational on Friday March 18th.
