Mammoths' rally falls short in 3-2 loss to Trinity

AMHERST, Mass. -- Goals from Alyssa Xu and Rylee Glennon brought eh Amherst College women's hockey team back from a two-goal deficit Tuesday night, but a late power-play goal spoiled its comeback dreams as Trinity pulled out a 3-2 victory at Orr Rink.

The Bantams improved to 7-9-1 overall and 3-7-0 in conference play while Amherst slipped to 9-8-1 overall and 6-6-1 in the NESCAC. The two teams will face one another again Wednesday, back at Orr Rink for a 7 p.m. puck drop.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

That made it 2-1 with 14:21 left in the game.

* Amherst tied the game with 7:22 remaining. Winning the puck in the left corner, Wiater nudged it to Wu who slid it out to Glennon.
