AMHERST, Mass. – Sophomore
Jaden Olson won two individual events and was part of a winning relay team as the Amherst College men's swimming and diving team captured a 192-99 win over NESCAC rival Middlebury College in a dual meet on Saturday afternoon at Pratt Pool.
The Mammoths, ranked eighth in the Northeast-North region in the latest CSCAA Division III poll, improved to 3-0 this season with their fifth straight dual-meet win, a streak that dates back to last season. The Panthers fell to 1-1.
The Mammoths are back in action on New Year's Eve (Sat., Dec. 31), visiting Union for a dual meet at noon.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* Olson kicked off the meet as the leadoff leg in the 200-yard medley relay, followed by junior
Liam Loveless, senior
Christian Moy and sophomore
Andrew Bernstein. The quartet touched in 1:33.10 to earn the win.
* Olson went on to win the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly. Olson posted a time of 51.32 in the 100 back and 50.44 in the 100 fly. A transfer from Penn, Olson has now won his first six races as a Mammoth.

Michael Jang swept the breaststroke races, winning the 100-yard breaststroke in 58.69 and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:07.93. Jang has now won five races in his first three collegiate meets.

Henry LeCates topped an Amherst sweep in the 200-yard butterfly with a personal-best time of 1:55.03, winning the event for the second time this season.
* Sophomore
Gabriele Lunardi led an Amherst sweep in the 1000-yard freestyle, winning the event in 9:47.33 for his first win of the season.

Andrew Bernstein finished atop an Amherst sweep in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.56, winning the event for the second straight meet.

Andrew Yuen sprinted to the win in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.52 seconds.

Jonah Luetke topped the field in the 200-yard backstroke with a mark of 1:54.93 for his second collegiate win in the event.
* Junior
Tyler Knightly was victorious in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:44.38 for his fourth win in three meets this season.
* Sophomore
Tor Metelmann led an Amherst sweep in the 200-yard individual medley, touching in 1:56.45.
