BOSTON – Junior forward Carley Daly scored eight seconds into overtime to lift the Amherst College women's ice hockey team to a 3-2 win at UMass Boston on Tuesday at the Barry Ice Rink.

The reigning NESCAC champion Mammoths (4-5) will look to make it three straight wins when they return to conference play on Friday at 7 p.m. at archrival Williams. The Beacons (5-8) next visit New England College on Friday.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

• After Rachel Burum scored her first collegiate goal for the Beacons in the first period, The Mammoths scored twice in a 3:10 span of the second to take the lead. Sophomore Rylee Glennon scored her third goal of the season and second in as many games at the 9:51 mark. Soon after, senior Stephanie Nomicos netted her second goal of the season to put Amherst on top on a fourth-chance opportunity after Beacons goalie Victoria Kennedy made several point-blank saves.
• Burum scored again for the Beacons in the third to leave the game deadlocked at 2-2 at the end of regulation.
• Glennon won the opening faceoff in overtime and Daly went straight to the net to end the game with her team-leading fourth goal of the season. It was the first overtime goal of Daly's collegiate career and the second game-winner of the season for the Allston native playing in her home city.

BY THE NUMBERS

• Senior netminder Anna Kruesel made 20 saves to earn the win and improve to 2-0 on the season.
• The Mammoths only took one penalty while the Beacons were sent to the box twice but neither team scored on the power play.
• The Mammoths held a 49-22 advantage in shots on goal, a season high in shots for Amherst as Beacons goalie Victoria Kennedy made 46 saves.
