WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Junior
Troy Colleran set a new program benchmark in the decathlon with 6714 total points – a mark that ranks sixth in Division III – to highlight the Amherst College men's track & field team's regular season-ending quad meet last weekend at the Weston Athletic Complex.
Amherst now awaits potential bids to the 2021 NCAA Championships taking place at the Irwin Belk Track Complex in Greensboro, N.C. on May 27-29. The men's DIII selection show is slated for Saturday, May 22.

TRACK EVENTS
- Registering the Mammoths' top time in the 100m dash so far this spring, Henry Buren '22 claimed gold by stopping the clock in 10.68 seconds – a mark that ranks 22nd fastest in all of Division III. Trevor Hall '22 placed fourth overall in the race with a 11.59 seconds mark.
- Taking to the starting line in the 200m sprint, Ben Wadsworth '22 posted a time of 23.13 seconds, while Benjamin Bell '24 made his 200m event debut and logged a 23.68 seconds mark.
- Alton Machen '24 notched a new PR and Amherst's best 400m dash mark of the season, racing to a time of 50.79 seconds to earn second place. Kyland Smith's '21 time of 51.52 seconds was good for sixth, while Wadsworth placed eighth overall with a 51.89 mark.
- Senior Ryan Prenosil added a victory in the 800m, clocking a time of 1:53.19 to earn first overall. Koyla Markov-Riss' '24 PR of 1:54.58 was good for fourth place, while Robert Innes-Gold's '22 mark of 2:00.40 clinched 11th.
- Improving on his time in the 1500m run for the fourth straight meet, first-year Ian Dopp registered a new personal best of 4:05.16.
- Spencer Davis '22 ran to a new PR in the 10,000m, logging a time of 32.31.33 to earn ninth.
FIELD EVENTS
- Breaking the school record in the decathlon with a whopping 6714 points, Colleran set a new personal best in the event behind seven first place finishes and three second place finishes across the 100m, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400m, 110m hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw and 1500m run.
- Reaching new personal bests in both the high jump and triple jump, Gabriel Dos Santos '24 notched a silver in the high jump with a 1.88m mark before improving on his triple jump mark for the fourth straight meet to capture third (13.00m).
- With a distance of 6.87m, Chris Gong '23 secured first place in the long jump, while Adrian Friedman '24 claimed fifth with a jump of 6.44m.
