AMHERST, Mass. -- Senior forward German Giammattei has repeated as a First Team All-NESCAC selection while classmate Bryce Johnson and sophomore Ada Okorogheye were named to the second team, as chosen by the league's coaches.

Giammattei is no stranger to conference accolades. He burst onto the scene as the NESCAC Rookie of the Year in 2018 and followed that up as the league's Player of the Year in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic cancelled the 2020 season. The Pinecrest, Florida, native returned to the pitch this season with an eight-goal campaign that included game-winning goals in one-goal wins over Stevens Tech, Williams and WPI. Giammattei added two assists to total 18 points.

Johnson makes his All-NESCAC debut as a key cog in the Mammoths' back line. The Plano, Texas, native returned to Amherst for a delayed senior season after the pandemic wiped out athletics last fall and started every game this season. He was part of a defensive unit that allowed just 2.6 shots on goal per game and only 7 goals in 16 games, including 11 shutouts. Johnson got on the scoresheet with the lone goal in a 1-0 win at Manhattanville on Sept. 15.

Okorogheye made his mark as a critical playmaker, leading the team with 6 assists to rank third in the NESCAC. A forward from London, Okorogheye assisted on game-winning goals against Hamilton and Colby and scored a goal of his own against Trinity on Oct. 26.

The Mammoths enter the NCAA Tournament with a 12-2-2 overall record and have not allowed a goal in their last four games. Amherst posted a 7-2-1 mark in NESCAC play and is ranked second in the NCAA Regional Rankings and 19th in the nation in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Division III poll.
