Box Score CLINTON, N.Y. – The 11th-ranked Amherst College women's lacrosse team received two scores each from Kate Wyeth '17, Hanna Krueger '17, and Mary Grace Cronin '18, and the Purple & White netted six goals in the first stanza, to help propel Amherst to a 10-6 NESCAC victory over Hamilton College Saturday afternoon at Steuben Field in Clinton, N.Y.

FIRST HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- Amherst struck first when Cronin scored just 37 seconds into the contest to make it 1-0. Hamilton answered a minute later when Caroline McCarthy scored an unassisted marker to even the game at 1-1.
- Coco Kusiak '17 then scored on a feed from Rachel Passarelli '16 at the 23:22 mark, before Cronin collected her second goal of the contest on a free position shot with 20:16 remaining in the period to make it 3-1.
- Wyeth then notched her first of the game following a nice dish from Krueger, before Krueger found the back of the net herself with an assist from Passarelli to make it 5-1 with 16:59 on the clock.
- The Continentals halted the 4-0 run when McCarthy fired in her second of the game to make it 5-2 at the 15:33 mark.
- Mia Haugton '16 capped the scoring for the stanza at the 8:41 mark following Passarelli's third helper of the half to make it 6-2 at intermission.
SECOND HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- The Purple & White picked up where it left off to begin the second stanza scoring the first three goals of the half as Claire Cagnassola '17 scored at the 26:14 mark to make it 7-2.
- After more than 14 minutes of scoreless play, Julia Crerend '18 found the back of the cage at the 11:33 mark, before a goal by Wyeth on a free position shot gave the visitors a 9-2 cushion with 10:17 remaining in the contest.
- Hamilton responded with four-straight goals in a span of less than seven minutes as Margaret Gabriel and Hattie Duke book-ended the run, while Morgan Fletcher added a pair of scores to make it 9-6 with 1:47 to play in regulation.
- A goal by Krueger following an assist from Cagnassola sealed the win for Amherst with 24 seconds left as the Purple & White closed out the 10-6 win.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Passarelli and goalie Christy Forrest '16 led Amherst with three ground balls each, while Krueger led all players with five draw controls. Forrest finished with four stops in the winning effort between the posts.
- Hamilton was led by Caroline Murray who picked up four ground balls, while Kara Pooley had three pickups in the losing effort.
- Hannah Burrall suffered the loss and made three saves in 30 minutes of action, while Hannah Rubin notched one second half stop.
