Box Score NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The No. 2 Amherst College men's soccer team scored a trio of goals, and the Purple & White posted its seventh shutout of the season Wednesday evening to help seal a 3-0 win against Mount Saint Mary College in non-conference action at Kaplan Field in Newburgh, N.Y.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- Amherst controlled the pace of play throughout the contest, posting a commanding, 22-8 shot differential, highlighted by a 9-3 advantage in shots on goal.
- Cameron Hardington '18 broke the scoreless tie in the 45th minute when he corralled a loose ball at the top of the box and fired it in for his first collegiate goal.
- Nico Pascual-Leone '16 made it 2-0 when he received a beautiful through ball from Milton Rico '16 and then chipped it into the back of the net over the Mount Saint Mary goalkeeper for his fourth goal of the season.
- Aziz Khan '18 put Amherst ahead, 3-0 in the 76th minute following a corner kick that was served into the box by Jackson Lehnhart '17, and then played to Cameron Bean '17. Bean then played it to Khan who deposited the ball into the back of the net for his second goal of the season.
- The Purple & White had an opportunity to add a fourth goal late in the contest, as Forest Sisk '17 delivered a corner kick that was headed wide by Christopher Lewis '19. The ball settled to Khan who ripped a shot but his attempt struck the crossbar.
- Thomas Bull '16 registered three saves in the winning effort, while his counterpart Austin Peluso made six stops for the Knights.
- Bean and Pascual-Leone led the Purple & White with two shots on goal each.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Amherst has allowed just two goals so far in 2015, and has now outscored its opponents, 20-2 through nine games.
