Amherst Swept by Brown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The 18th-ranked Amherst women's squash team was swept by No. 10 Brown, 9-0, on Tuesday at the Brodsky Squash Pavilion. 

With the loss, the Jeffs are now 4-6 overall on the season. The Bears improved to 7-2.

At the top of the lineup, Dori Rahbar '14 defeated Ericka Robertson '16, 3-0, by scores of 11-5, 11-7, and 11-3. Hannah Hay-Smith '17 and Emily Richmond '16 grabbed wins from the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, respectively. Hay-Smith defeated Arielle Lehman '15, 3-0, with scores of 11-5, 11-9, and 11-9, and Richmond swept Meyha Sud '16, 11-2, 11-1, and 11-4.

Taryn Clary '16 dropped a 3-1 decision from the No. 7 spot. The sophomore rebounded from an 11-2 loss in game two to pick up an 11-6 win in the second frame. However, trailing 2-1, Clary was edged out in the fourth set, 12-10.

Amherst returns to the courts on Sunday, Jan. 26 to host Wesleyan at 11 a.m.
