CAMBRIDGE, MA – The Amherst men's tennis team traveled to M.I.T. for the New England Division III Omni Hotels/ITA Men's Tennis Championships over the weekend. Encountering a stellar field, the Jeffs more than held their own in the singles matches, but struggled in the doubles draw. 

First-year Danny Babkes (Ellicott City, MD) led the way, posting an easy 6-3, 6-2 victory in the second round before falling in straight sets in the third, 6-4, 6-0. Not to be outdone, fellow first-year Josh Rilla (Westborough, MA) also advanced to the third round after a convincing 6-2, 6-2 second-round win. Seniors Adam Leibsohn (Mission Hills, KS) and Andy Tsai (Tampa, FL) were each first-round victors before bowing out in the second. 

Amherst raps up its fall slate Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. against visiting Brandeis University.
