Jeffs Fall to Norwich, 6-1

NORTHFIELD, VT - The Amherst College men's hockey team fell to 1-2-2 with a 6-1 loss at ECAC-rival Norwich University on Friday night. The Jeffs' lone tally came on a power play in the waning seconds, when senior forward Bob Miele (Woburn, MA) found the back of the net with his fourth goal of the season off a power play feed from sophomore Mike Kreger (Glenview, IL).

Norwich scored at least once in every period and received goals from six different players en route to the victory. Paul Mattucci connected on what turned out the be the game-winner 19:12 into the first period, assisted by Kurtis Mclean and Vadim Bellaev. Goaltender Kevin Schieve posted 20 saves in the win, while Amherst goaltender Justin Jagher (Framingham, MA) finished with 46.

The Jeffs return to action Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. at St. Michael's College.
