Women's Squash Competes at Howe Cup

Women's squash finished off its team season with a 9-6 record in the Howe Cup. Competing in Division B, Amherst cruised past Bates in the first round, 8-1, before edging out Cornell 5-4 in the semifinals. However, Amherst fell for the second time this season to Bowdoin in the Championship match, 2-7.

Leading Amherst with three victories was Sheila Reynolds (Great Falls, VA). The junior posted a trio of three-game wins playing at the No. 4 spot, while No. 2 Rachel Nisselson (Brooklyn, NY) went 2-1 for the weekend, dropping her only match in five games to Cornell. Nos. 1 and 3 Page Callaghan (Strafford, PA) and Justine O'Connor (Brooklyn, NY) were also 2-1 in Howe Cup competition as all four players look forward to competing in the USWISRA Individual National Championship, to be held at Amherst from February 27-March 1.
