Men's Soccer Still on the Rise as Fourth-Best in Nation

The Jeffs continue to cruise with a flawless 7-0-1 mark as the top-team in New England and No. 4 in the nation. Amherst is one of only three undefeated teams left in Division III, alongside sixth-ranked Macalester (7-0-3) and former national champion Wheaton (IL - 11-0-1).

Amherst posted a pair of wins this week over Trinity and Springfield. Junior Matt Diggs (Seattle, WA) posted goals in each game as he has scored in his last three straight.

Facing the Bantams, keeper Kevin Larner (Short Hills, NJ) made seven saves in 70 minutes against 12 determined Trinity shots. Against Springfield, however, Amherst powered the attack, drilling 23 shots on goal an earning eight corner kicks. Sophomore Gary Kegal (Woodway, WA) and Diggs each posted a goal and an assist each.
