Jamal Wilson scored his 1000th career point as Amherst College posted a 106-81 rout of WNEC. Wilson is only the 11th player in school history to surpass the 1000-point mark, and the senior co-captain still has 19 games in the regular season to play.
Wilson had 20 points for the night as the game's second highest scorer, trailing teammate John Pavelski by nine points. This is the third game in a row that Pavelski has hit four shots from three-point range, as he leads the team with 16.
While WNEC came out to an early lead, the Jeffs drove to the hoop to force the foul and make the three-point conversions. WNEC's Tom Keane returned the favor, slashing to the hoop for 11 points, but his scoring run started too late in the second half to help the Bears, already trailing by more than 20 points. Kevin Codey lead the Bears with 14 points.
