Gabi Dias enters her first season as an assistant coach for the Mammoths' volleyball program in 2021.
A 2017 graduate of Colorado Mesa University with a bachelor's of business administration, Dias also owns an associate of arts degree in general studies from Arizona Western College and a master's degree in higher education from Providence College and comes to the Pioneer Valley following a two-year stint as a graduate assistant for the Division I Friars.
A part of the 2020-21 Big East Coaching Staff of the Year, Dias helped Providence College earn a spot in the Big East Tournament and held roles on both the Inclusion Committee and International Student-Athlete Committee in the Friars' athletic department. She attended the three-day Black-Student Athlete Summit in 2020 and was selected as the BIG EAST nominee by the conference's head volleyball coaches to participate in the 2020 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Diversity Awards Program.
On the court, Dias brings National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and NCAA Division II playing experience, having appeared in two NJCAA Division I national tournaments as the 2014 NJCAA Region I Most Valuable Player during her time at Arizona Western and two NCAA Division II regional tournaments while competing at CMU. A native of Recife, Brazil, Dias was a 2016 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMC) All-Academic Team honoree and speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish.
