A 2018 graduate of Amherst College with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology and Economics, Ian Kadish was named the Hitchcock Fellow and is set to join the men’s lacrosse coaching staff as an assistant this spring.
Elected captain in his senior season for the Mammoths, Kadish saw success both on the field and in the classroom at Amherst. A three-time NESCAC All-Academic Team honoree, Kadish earned significant minutes across all four seasons, finishing his career with a stat line of 16 goals, 13 assists, 133 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers and a 244-for-555 record at the face off dot in 76 contests as a face-off specialist and midfielder.
A two-time member of Team Israel whose resume includes participating in the FIL World Lacrosse Championships (2018) and FIL European Championships (2016), Kadish brings several years of coaching experience to the Mammoths staff, with the Salt Lake City, Utah native previously acting as a program coach for 212 Lacrosse in addition to aiding Amherst with their recruiting efforts as a student assistant in the summer of 2017. Dedicated to the expansion of the sport, Kadish has also worked extensively with the Israel Lacrosse Association, spearheading the start of a youth lacrosse program in Be’er Sheva in the south of Israel.
Off the field, Kadish authored a senior honors thesis entitled ‘Pluralistic Ignorance and Being “Put Together”: A Study of Effortless Perfectionism,’ was the NESCAC and Amherst College Chapter President of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), and was an active participant in the Amherst LEADS program.
