Marquise Watson enters his first season on the sidelines for Amherst as the Mammoths’ running backs coach after graduating from Bryant University in May 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications.

A student-coach for the Bulldogs last spring, Watson was a four-year starter for Bryant, excelling on the defensive line and as a linebacker and captaining the team during his junior and senior seasons. Named the team’s co-defensive player of the year and First-Team All-NEC in senior campaign, Watson holds Bryant’s program record for career tackles with 256. A native of Hillside, N.J., Watson concluded his collegiate career with 122 solo tackles, 6.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and four pass deflections.
