Brandon Shileikis

The Amherst College baseball program and head coach J.P. Pyne are happy to announce the recent hiring of Brandon Shileikis as an assistant coach. His responsibilities will include working with the pitching staff, recruiting and overseeing the team’s strength and conditioning program.

A 2018 graduate of Quinnipiac University with a bachelor's degree in biomedical marketing, Shileikis was a four-year letter winner for the Division I Bobcats. During his career in Hamden, “Sheik” made 51 appearances on the mound including 26 starts. He helped lead QU to three appearances in the MAAC Championship Tournament and posted 10 career victories and a career 4.36 ERA. He was twice honored with the “Iron Bobcat” award, which is presented annually to the program’s hardest worker.

Immediately following graduation, Shileikis joined the coaching staff for the Pittsfield Suns of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL), serving as their pitching coach. This past summer, Sheik helped guide the Suns to the FCBL Championship Series before falling to the Vermont Lake Monsters in the third and final game.

 Shileikis has also gained experience at the NCAA level, serving as the top assistant at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI in the spring of 2021. He played a key role in the Hawks’ 20-win season, serving as the third base coach as well as leading the pitching staff/

The North Dighton, Mass. native also spent time working with Cressey Sports Performance in Hudson, Mass. as a pitching/strength and conditioning intern. In this role he worked under the current New York Yankees’ Director of Player Health and Performance, Eric Cressey.
