EAST HADDAM, CT -- The Amherst College men's golf team competed in Day 3 of the 2026 NESCAC Championship Tournament at Fox Hopyard Golf Course Sunday.
The Mammoths began play in the afternoon, and finished in T-4th place out of 10 teams, tied with Trinity College. The Mammoths fired a +10 over par today, improving 9 strokes from Day 2, and finished with a three day total of +56 over par.
Williams College is the 2026 NESCAC Champion, finishing +26 for three days. Tufts College finished in second place with a total of +39 for three days.
On the individual leaderboard, freshman
Thomas Zhang led the team on Day 3 shooting 71, or even par. He had an impressive seven birdies, and finished in 10th place out of 50 players.

Andre Zhang follows with a 74, and he finished in 8th place on the individual leaderboard. Sophomore

Mark Vitels shot 80.
The Mammoths, #46 in the nation, have completed the NESCAC Championship tournament. The Mammoths will now wait to see if they receive a bid to compete in the NCAA DIII Tournament in May.
