#13 Amherst Makes It Three Consecutive 9-0 Sweeps With Postseason Win Over #20 Bates

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The #13 Amherst College women's squash team continued their dominant form, securing their third consecutive 9-0 sweep with a commanding victory over the #20 Bates College Bobcats in the opening round of the CSA Divisional Team Championships at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center. The Mammoths controlled the match from start to finish, winning all nine matches, with eight in straight sets, to extend their winning streak and advance to the next round.

Up Next: With this victory, Amherst improves to 16-5 overall and advances to the next round of the CSA National Championships. The Mammoths will now face the #16 Middlebury College Panthers, who hold a 10-8 season record and advanced with an 8-1 win over the #17 Bowdoin College Polar Bears earlier today. This match will take place tomorrow at 3 PM at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center as Amherst looks to extend its three-match winning streak.

  • Senior Tanmai Pathak opened the match with a commanding 3-0 win, dropping just 18 total points in a confident performance at the #1 spot.
  • Junior Quincy Cline delivered a clutch first-game tiebreaker victory (13-11) at #2, setting the tone for a straight-set sweep.
  • Sophomore Alex Brown edged out tight sets at #3, securing a 3-0 win with 12-10 and 11-9 finishes in the second and third games. Junior Kristen Daniel was consistent at #4, winning in straight sets while conceding just 21 total points.
