MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Amherst College women's swimming and diving team had one last chance to post qualifying times for the national championships at the NESCAC February Invitational, held on Sunday at Middlebury College.

Katherine Hoffman swam the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:34.32, an NCAA B-cut, though the same quartet posted an even faster time of 1:34.20 in a time trial at the NESCAC Championships last weekend. That season best currently ranks among the top 20 in Division III this season.
Smith also took on the 100-yard freestyle and touched in 51.80 seconds. Hoffman swam the 100-yard breaststroke as well, finishing in 1:05.95.
The Mammoths will now await selections on Wednesday, Feb. 26, to learn who will be invited to the NCAA Division III Championships from March 19–22, in Greensboro, North Carolina. Divers will earn qualification at the NCAA Northeast/North Diving Regional on February 28 and March 1 at Springfield College.
