AMHERST, Mass. - Four Mammoths of the Amherst College Women's Swimming and Diving team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District on Tuesday. Junior

Maeve Kelley (Pittsburgh, Pa.), and senior captain
Donna Zhang (Winchester, Mass.) were recognized this year.
Formerly known as the College Sports Information Directors of America (COSIDA), the CSC divides the NCAA institutions into nine geographic districts, with Amherst being located in District 1. In order to earn Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must have played in at least 90 percent of their team's contests -- or started in 65 percent of them – during the recently completed season and have maintained at least a 3.5 undergraduate cumulative GPA.
Arnold, a French and geology double major, notched their second All-District recognition. In the NESCAC Championships, Arnold earned the 100-yard butterfly title at this year's championships and a title in the 400-yard freestyle relay with Kelley, which set the meet record. They finished second in the 800 meter freestyle relay with Kelley, fourth with the 200-yard freestyle A-relay, second in the 200-yard IM, fourth in the 400-yard medley relay with Fong and Kelley, and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle. In the NCAA Championships, Arnold garnered All-American second team honors as a part of the 400-yard and 800-yard freestyle relay teams.
Fong, an anthropology major, notched her second All-District recognition. In the NESCAC Championships, Fong placed 11th in the 50-yard breaststroke, fourth in the 400-yard medley relay with Arnold and Kelley, fourth in the 200-yard medley A relay, and eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke. In the NCAA Championships, Fong earned All-American second team honors in the 200-yard medley relay to close out her collegiate career.
Kelley, an economics major, notched her second All-District recognition. In the NESCAC Championships, Kelley earned a title the 400-yard freestyle relay with Arnold that set the meet record, finished second in the 800 meter freestyle relay with Arnold, 14th on the 200-yard freestyle B-relay, fourth in the 400-yard medley relay with Arnold and Fong, fourth in the 200-yard freestyle, and second in the 200-yard butterfly. In the NCAA Championships, Kelley earned All-American first team honors in the 200-yard butterfly with a third place finish setting a school record. She also earned All-American second-team honors for the 400-yard and 800-yard freestyle relays and the 100-yard butterfly.
Zhang, a mathematics and statistics double major, notched her second All-District recognition. Zhang competed in the 1 meter and 3 meter diving in the NESCAC Championships finishing second in both, earning NESCAC Co-Diver of the Year. Zhang also competed in NCAA Diving regionals in both events and finished second in both events, and qualified for the NCAA Championships. She earned All-American first team honors for her eighth place finish in the 3 meter diving competition and All-American second team honors for her 16th place finish in the 1 meter diving competition to close out her collegiate career.
