WATERVILLE, Maine – Senior
Sydney Bluestein captured the three-meter diving title to sweep the diving events at the NESCAC Championships and help the Amherst College women's swimming and diving team move up into third place after Saturday's action at the Alfond Athletics and Recreation Center at Colby College.
The Mammoths have tallied 855 points through 18 of 24 events, moving ahead of host Colby into third place on third day of competition after racking up four All-NESCAC finishes. Defending champion Williams leads with 1349 points with Tufts less than 10 points behind.
The NESCAC Championships conclude on Sunday (Feb. 16) at Colby, with the morning preliminaries at 10 a.m. and the finals of the six remaining events beginning at 5:15 p.m.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* Bluestein, who won her third consecutive one-meter diving title on Friday, added to her legacy with her second career conference championship on the three-meter board, scoring 464.05 points in her final NESCAC Championship event. She previously swept the two diving events in 2023 and is in line to earn NESCAC Diver of the Year honors for the second time. Bluestein was joined on the podium by junior
Donna Zhang, who placed third with 450.75 points for her third career All-NESCAC finish after a runner-up placement on the one-meter board.
* Senior
Ali Lacroix grabbed third place in the 100-yard breaststroke to claim her first career All-NESCAC accolades with a time of 1:03.23 in the finals. Earlier in the morning preliminaries, Lacroix swam a personal-best time of 1:02.80, an NCAA B-cut time that ranks among the top 10 in Division III thus far this season.
* Sophomore
Maeve Kelley earned All-NESCAC honors with a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, posting an NCAA B-cut with a time of 1:52.17. This is Kelley's fifth career All-NESCAC finish and second this week after anchoring the 800-yard freestyle relay on Thursday.
* Sophomore
Paige Arnold posted an NCAA B-cut in the morning preliminaries of the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.68 seconds and finished fourth in the final in 56.03 seconds.

Katherine Hoffman and first-year
Sydney Thompson earned an NCAA B-cut time of 1:44.38 to finish sixth.

Megan Lee secured another NCAA B-cut in the 400-yard individual medley, touching in 4:27.23 to place sixth.
