WATERVILLE, Maine – Senior
Sydney Bluestein won her third straight conference title in one-meter diving to help the Amherst College women's swimming and diving team sit in fourth place after Friday's action at the NESCAC Championships at the Alfond Athletics and Recreation Center at Colby College.
The Mammoths have tallied 495 points through 10 of 23 events to remain in fourth place out of the 11 NESCAC squads, closely behind host Colby in third with 508 points. Defending champion Williams leads with 783 points.
The NESCAC Championships continue through Sunday (Feb. 16) with two more days of action at Colby beginning at 10 a.m. each day.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* Bluestein is the NESCAC champion in one-meter diving for the third straight season after posting an 11-dive score of 467.20 in the finals, continuing the Amherst diving dynasty as the Mammoths have now won this event for seven straight seasons. Junior
Donna Zhang was just behind, finishing second with a score of 441.70 to earn her second career All-NESCAC honor.

Lucy Smith finished fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with an NCAA B-cut time of 23.55 seconds.

Maeve Kelley posted an NCAA B-cut time in the 500-yard freestyle, placing fifth in 4:56.42 with a mark that ranks among the top 20 in Division III so far this season.

Katherine Hoffman posted a time of 1:34.95, earning a fifth-place finish and an NCAA B-cut time that ranks among the top 20 in Division III so far this season.

Ali Lacroix teamed with Arnold and Smith to clock in at 3:46.43 and claim fourth place with an NCAA B-cut time that ranks among the top 20 in Division III so far this season.
