CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Amherst College women's swimming and diving team closed out the dual meet season with a 209.5-86.5 loss to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on Saturday afternoon at the Zesiger Center.
The reigning NEWMAC champion Engineers, ranked third in the nation in the latest CSCAA Division III poll, concluded their dual meet season at 9-1 with their eighth straight dual meet win. The 23rd-ranked Mammoths finished the dual meet season at 3-3.
The Mammoths now turn their attention to the championship season with the NESCAC Championships coming up from February 13–16 at Colby College.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* Amherst's only wins of the meet both came courtesy of sophomore
Paige Arnold, who claimed two individual victories for the Mammoths, taking first in the 100-yard freestyle in 53.15 seconds and winning the 200-yard individual medley in a season-best 2:09.31. This marks the fifth meet this season in which Arnold has won multiple events.
