GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
- Amherst took a 1-0 lead with 12:09 remaining in the first period. Maeve Reynolds has the puck at the door step on the right side of the Connecticut goal but her point-blank shot was stopped. The rebound could not be controlled and Reynolds tapped the puck across the crease to Marleau, who had a wide-open goal and did not miss. It was her second goal of the season.
- The Mammoths were able to double their lead with 9:24 to go in the middle stanza. With a power-play opportunity winding down, Natalie Stott came out to stop a clear in the right circle, tapping the puck to Flynn, who then began an end-to-end rush into the lower left circle in the Camels' zone and fired a shot past Devon Galizio for a 2-0 lead.
- The Camels' climbed back into the game with a power-play goal of their own only 1:38 later. A close-range shot snuck behind Stott and Alana Burm was there to tap it in for the Camels.
- The Mammoths came up big a few minutes later, killing off a penalty when Stott fought off a screen in front of her to block a shot by Sofia Polizzi. A minute later Stott made the save of the game, robbing Conn.'s Bridget McGann, who received a pass at the bottom of the right circle and tried to bury it into an open right-side of the goal, only to see Stott fly across the crease and make a diving glove save with 3:07 remaining in the period.
- Only 2:14 into the final period Amherst increased its lead to 3-1 when Reynolds won the face-off from the right circle, drawing the puck back to Malaya Anaba at the right point. Anaba quickly moved it over to Gretchen Dann at the left point. Dann took a stride toward the slot and fired a quick wrister than snuck in past Galizio just inside the far right post for a 3-1 lead.
