AMHERST, MA — On Sunday, the Amherst College women's squash team kicked off their 2025-26 season. They hosted Hamilton College at home, the Davenport Squash Courts. The Mammoths bested the Continentals with an overall score of 9-0, and started the season off strong with a NESCAC win.
Last season, the Mammoths reached the final of the CSA Championships, and had an overall record of 17-6. They were also the Little Three champions, as well as NESCAC tournament semifinalists. This year, their goal is to reach the top 12 in the country to compete with the best of the best at the end of the season.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
- Amherst went 27-0 in sets.
- Fionnoula Brandon at the #8 spot had the fastest win of the day, only losing two points in three sets, and winning in only 9 minutes against Cecilia Miliaras.
- Yana Sharma at the #6 spot only lost one point today in her 15-minute victory against Sydney Hellinger.
