KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- After an outstanding season in which the Amherst men's soccer team won the NCAA Division III Championship title, the United Soccer Coaches (USC) have named the Amherst men's soccer coaching staff of Justin Serpone, Derek Shea, Alex Ortega, and Jeff Huffman as the 2024 National Coaching Staff of the Year, announced by USC on Friday. 

Finishing the 2024 season with a record of 16-2-4, the Mammoths made their fourth appearance to the championship game in the last five NCAA Division III Championship games held. Amherst won their first and most recent national title in 2015 under Serpone's direction. Upon the conclusion of the 2024 season, Serpone holds a career record of 264-38-48 (.823).
