AMHERST, Mass. -- Jessica Lapachinski had been promoted to Associate Director of Athletics for Finance and Business Operations, it was announced today by Amherst College Director of Athletics Don Faulstick.

Lapachinski spent the previous 18 months serving as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Business Operations at Amherst. She replaces Greg DiNardo, who left for Dartmouth College in mid-May of this year.

"In Jess's relatively short time at the college, she has made an immediate impact in our department and I'm excited she agreed to take on the additional duties," Faulstick said.

Lapachinski had worked her entire professional career at nearby Deerfield Academy, beginning her career there in 2011 as part of the advancement office. She transitioned to the athletic department in 2014 as the associate director of athletics.

Lapachinski expanded her role as an educator at Deerfield, creating a leadership curriculum for student-athletes that she taught and developed beginning in 2020. She also taught health education for ninth-grade students. Lapachinski's most recent role provided her with the opportunity to expand the leadership curriculum outside of athletics with a focus on leadership through service and global citizenship.

Lapachinski attended the University of Massachusetts and earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology. Additionally, she earned a master's degree in sports leadership from Northeastern University.

While in the advancement office at Deerfield, she focused on capital campaign event planning and young alumni engagement. After transitioning to the athletics department, she played an essential role in the day-to-day operation of the department including game scheduling, domestic and international athletic travel, and tournament logistics.

She also oversaw the athletic stockroom staff and operation including uniform ordering, equipment purchases, and general maintenance of Deerfield's 60 interscholastic teams. In addition, Lapachinski worked with the varsity teams as a strength and conditioning coach and also coached the varsity softball team for six years.

Lapachinski lives in Montague with her husband, Peter, and their two children, Carter and Palmer.
