CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Sophomore
Donna Zhang won both diving events Saturday, bit it wasn't enough as the Amherst College women's swimming & diving team dropped a 213-77 decision to the Massachusetts Institute of technology Saturday.
The Mammoths fell to 4-2 in dual meets on the season. They are back in action Sunday, traveling to a 1 p.m. meet at Springfield College.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* Zhang won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions Saturday, compiling 429.1 points to take the 1-meter and 486.75 to bring hme th etop spot in the 3-meter.Â

Paige Arnold had a nice day, winning the 100 free in 52.25 seconds taking second in the 200 free with a time of 1:54.74. Arnold was also the lead swimmer of the 400-free relay that placed second in a time of 3:33.77. She was joined on that team by
Lucy Smith,
Lauren Eng and
Jennifer Adams.Â
* Smith had a strong race in the 50 free, taking second with a time of 24.27 seconds.
Megan Lee placed second in the 500 free with a time of 5:07.63 and third in the 20 free, right behind Arnold, in a time of 1:56.21.Â
* Amherst managed a plethora of third-place finishes on the day.
Diane Koo was third in the 200-yard fly in 2:14.50. Maeve Kelly was third in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:08.61 and she was fourth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:13.81.Â

Joline Fong placed third in the 200-yard breaststroke, swimming to a time o 2:29.71. Katie Hoffman was third in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:00.26.
Sabrina Comess placed a very close fifth in that race with a time of 1:00.54.Â

Diane Koo's heels with a time of 2:14.58.Â
