DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- First-year Elizabeth Cain scored a team-high 16 points Sunday, leading the Amherst College women's basketball team to a 68-30 victory over UMass-Boston at the Florida Sunshine Shootout's Ocean Center.

Amherst improved to 9-2 on the season. The Mammoths are off until Friday, Jan. 10, when they open conference play at home vs. Bates at 7 p.m.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

* The Mammoths led 4-3 in the opening quarter when they went on a 14-0 run to take a commanding 15-point lead and never looked back.
