Will Phelan, who missed over a month with an injury, notched a season-high 15 points Saturday as the Amherst College men's basketball team wrapped up its 2022-2023 season with a 56-39 win at conference rival Bowdoin College.

Beluolisah Oranye scored 11 points for the Mammoths, while classmate
Yaseen Zarroug scored five in the victory. Amherst concluded its season with a 10-14 record.Â
GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
*Â The Mammoths took a 24-14 lead after holding Bowdoin to 19 percent shooting in the first half. In contrast., the Mammoths went 10 of 22 from the floor (5 percent). Oranye scored 8 of his 11 points in the opening half, going 4 of 5 from the field.Â
Amherst maintained their lead throughout the second half as Bowdoin could get no closer than 12 points. Phelan took over for the Mammoths in the second half, scoring 12 of his 15 points on 4 of 7 shooting, including two three-pointers from beyond the arc.Â
BY THE NUMBERS:
* The Mammoths held a slim 38-36 edge on the glass, with both Oranye and
Ryker Vance leading the way with 5 rebounds each. Vance also had a team-high 3 blocks in the win.
Canin Reynolds finished with 7 points and a team-high 4 steals. He added 4 rebounds and 2 steals as well.Â
