Mammoths Blanked in Season Opener at Hamilton, 3-0

CLINTON, NY The Mammoths were unable to find the net at Sage Rink on opening night, falling to the Continentals 3-0, despite totaling 33 shots on goal.

Just  3:55 into the second period, the Continentals stole the puck for a 1-0 lead into a 2, capitalizing on a 2-on-1 opportunity in the Mammoth's end. However, the Mammoths were successful in killing off all five power-plays throughout the game.

The Continentals secured a third goal in the final minutes of the game when Amherst pulled its goalie from the net at their 2-0 deficit, where a wrist shot slipped past the Mammoths into the empty net.

The Mammoths are back in action Tuesday at Orr Rink to face Saint Michael's College at 4 p.m. for their second game of the season.
