AMHERST, Mass. -- It was Senior Day at Pratt Pool Sunday and the Amherst College women's swimming and diving team celebrated with a 162-111 victory over Springfield College.
With the win, Amherst improved to 6-2 overall. The Mammoths are off until Thursday, February 9th when they head to Bowdoin College and the LeRoy Greason Pool for the 2023 NESCAC Championships.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:

Grace Tarantola was a part of three wins Sunday, leading off the victorious 200-yard medley relay which won the event with a time of 1:50.39. Senior
Jess Gordon swam the third leg of the event, while sophomore
Ali Lacroix and first-year
Alex Zorn took care of the second and fourth legs, respectively. Tarantola went on to victories in the 100 back (1:00.79) and the 200 back (2:12.60). The Mammoths swept both of those events, with junior
Caitlin Knight placing second in both the 100 (1:01.64) and the 200 (2:12.70). In the 100, First-year
Emory Tudor was third in the 100 (1:00.72) while sophomore
Cora Spelke was third in the 200 (2:14.63).
* The Mammoths also took the top three spots in the 400 IM, the 500 free and the 1-meter diving competition. In the 400 IM, sophomore
Megan Lee won the event in 4:40.96, while first-year
Diane Koo (4:42.62) and junior
Grace Walker (4:49.02) were second and third, respectively. In the 500 free, sophomore
Jennifer Adams won the event in 5:18.05, while senior
Margaret McNamara (5:19.74) and Tudor (5:25.84) placed second and third respectively.
* In the 1-meter diving competition,
Sydney Bluestein earned a NCAA B-cut point total of 287.55 to win the event, while
Donna Zhang was second with 232.72 points and senior
Hannah Colaizzo finished third with 214.64 points.
* Amherst junior
Lauren Eng won the 100 free in 53.36 seconds while placing second in the 50 free in 24.74 seconds. Gordon was second in the 100 free (53.83) while Zorn was third in the 50 free (25.04).
* First-year Koo won the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.46 seconds with Zorn placing second in 59.49 seconds and senior
Alex Hartwich finishing fourth in 1:03.33.
Jennifer Adams won her second event of the day when she took first in the 200 free in a time of 1:57.79. McNamara placed second in 2:02.37 and junior
Emma Lee was fourth in 2:04.45.
* Lacroix won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:24.67 with first-year
Joline Fong was third in 2:30.47. Junior
Sabrina Comess was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.64) and Fong third (1:11.62).
