AMHERST, Mass. -- Senior
Jackie D'Alleva scored three goals and junior
Muffie Mazambani added two scores of her own Wednesday night as the #12th-ranked Amherst College field hockey team defeated Keene State on Hill Field, 6-0.
Amherst improved to 2-1 on the season and will host Tufts University Saturday at 12 p.m. The Owls dropped to 1-2 on the year.

* Mazambani opened the scoring with 5:15 remaining in the first quarter, tipping in a penalty corner that began with
Beth Williamson slotting a pass to
Abbey Kays, who fired a low shot to the left that found the stick of the junior forward.Â
* Amherst began to control play as the second period needs its conclusion . Sophomore
Kat Mason doubled the Mammoths lead at the 28:18 mark when she controlled a loose ball in the Owl end and dribbled her way toward the goal, sliding a shot past the goalkeeper. The Mammoths led 2-0 at the halftime break.Â
* Amherst put the game out of reach with three goals in the third quarter, two scored by D'Alleva.Â

* Amherst finished with a 30-1 advantage in shots and a 10-2 edge in penalty corners.Â
* Kays and
Paige DiBiase both had two assists in the victory for the Mammoths.Â
