GENEVA,, OH. -- Two members of the Amherst College women's track and field team competed on the second day of the NCAA Championships Friday. The three-day event is taking place at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
First-year
Eliza Cardwell finished 18th in the 100 hurdles. Classmate
Julia Zacher was 21st in the high jump. The top eight finishers achieve All-American status.
Both Mammoths earned a trip to the SPIRE Institute in Geneva after finishing among the top-22 competitors nationally in their events.
Zacher cleared the bar on her third and final try at 1.56 meters (5-1 1/4 feet). Cardwell finished the 100 hurdles race in a wind-adjusted 14.98 seconds.

Sophia Wolmer will participate in the 5,000-meter race Saturday to close the Mammoths' participation at the national meet.Â
